Our All Grain Wildfire Wheat Ale is the perfect beer for summer. Light and easy drinking, this beer recipe kit boasts a sweet malt character using Gambrinus Pilsner and American Wheat Malt, rounded off with munich and a bare hint of Cherry Wood Smoked Malt. The smoke characteristic stays in the background, giving just a hint of sweet smoke. We round out this unique beer style with Rakau hops, giving this American style wheat a clean, smooth bitterness and some light tropical fruit and fig in the aroma.
While this beer is intended as an American wheat beer, you can switch up your brew day by using a German or Belgian style yeast strain. This base recipe is meant to play well with American wheat yeast, Belgian wheat yeast and German wheat yeast strains, giving you the opportunity for tons of experimentation! Try adding some lemonade concentrate at packaging for a delicious summer shandy!

If you’re on the West Coast, you know that every year from June to September it seems like everything is on fire, and sometimes you just need a light, easy drinking summer style wheat beer to help combat the smoke and calm your nerves. I’m super excited about this beer kit because it blends a few of my favorite things together into something that works really well! We added just a hint of Briess Cherrywood Smoked Malt, which is super light and sweet on the smoke side of things, to add that touch of summer smokiness to round out the character. And the hop profile! Rakau is quickly becoming one of my favorite hops for both lighter beers and IPAs because the bitter is clean and smooth, almost like Magnum, but the whirlpool additions in this kit give it just a hint of a figgy, tropical punch to round out the malt profile.
