Irish Distillers Malt 55 lbs
Description:
Malting Company of Ireland's Distillers Malt is produced from Irish 2 Row Spring Barley, grown with all of the benefits of fertile soils, mild temperate oceanic climate and the long growing season. These factors help to provide a malting barley with very large and plump kernels. The combination of large, full grains and our malting process produce a malt high in extract and fermentability, which forms the backbone of several famous Irish Whiskeys.

Probably my favorite malt for single malt whisky and as the diastatic power in just about any other whisky recipe. The flavor profile is big and malt forward, reminding you of Maris Otter if you use it as your base malt in your beer recipe, but the diastatic power is literally off the charts. It comes in at 240 on the Lintner Scale, meaning you can use it for anything from American Bourbon recipes to Mexican Style Lager recipes.
Note: 55 Pound Bulk Sack
