US Idaho Gem T90 Hop Pellets, 1 pound sealed bulk package

Developed by Gooding Farms in Parma, Idaho, Idaho Gem is a newer hop variety with deliciously low co-humulones and a complex flavor and aroma.

Idaho Gem is ideal as a smooth bittering hop, boasting insanely low co-humulone levels and moderate to high alpha acids.  Due to it's complex and dual natured flavor and aroma profile, it also shines as a late addition and dry hop addition, especially in hoppy styles, as well as in light lagers and as a dry hop for ciders.

Aroma and Flavor

Expect a complex and insanely fruit forward flavor and aroma from Idaho Gem with stonefruit, cherry and sweet, candied fruits on the front end and subtle spice on the back end.  Hints of sweet mojito mint with a subtle and spicy backbone make up the balance in this complex hop profile.

Idaho keeps coming out with killer hop varieties, and Gem is no different.  It’s way brighter than Idaho 7, without the forward spicy-pine balance aspect.  It’s absolutely stellar as a bittering hop because the co-humulones are super low, but when mixed with some more pine forward varieties in a simple IPA, like Cascade and Simcoe, the bright cherry-stonefruit characteristics really pop!
