Hibiscus Flowers, 2 oz
2 oz package of Dried Hibiscus Flowers (Hibiscus sabdariffa)
Adds berry-like, fruity and very floral flavors and aromas. Boil additions add subtle berry/fruit and bitterness, and dry hop additions add softer flavor and color, with a bigger hibiscus-floral nose. Will also give light fermentations a faint to brilliant pink color, depending on dosage.
Directions for Use
Add 2 - 4 oz per 5 gallons of beer, wine, mead or cider. Hibiscus flavor characteristics extract well with boiling temperatures, so if using for beer, add at the last 10 minutes of the boil. If using for wine, mead or cider, boil for 10 minutes in a separate pot. Can also be extracted with a tincture. Add 2 - 4 oz to a clean, neutral spirit (like vodka) and allow 5 - 7 days for extraction. Add to finished fermentation to taste.
