German Spelt Malt

Spelt Malt is an heirloom wheat malt whose genetics date back to the Fertile Crescent where the Sumerians were purported to make beer using this ancient grain.  Expect mild, nutty flavors and some tangy acidic notes, as well as contribution towards a creamy mouthfeel and pleasantly bready aroma.  Spelt should have enough diastatic power to convert itself.

Note: Sold by the pound.
