Galaxy T-90 Hop Pellets - 1 lb
Description
Australian Galaxy T90 Hop Pellets, 1 Pound sealed bulk package
Breeding for Galaxy began in 1994 by Hop Products of Australia, and after mixing an Australian female, known as J78, and a male derived from German Perle, Galaxy was released in 2009, and has been highly sought after ever since. This variety quickly found traction with brewers worldwide, and is known to have one of the highest concentrations of essential oils of any hop variety.
Usage
While Galaxy is definitely capable of bittering additions, it's not generally used that way due to how hard it is to get, and the bright and amazing flavor and aroma profile due to it's concentrated hop oil composition. Galaxy is ideal for any hoppy beer, as well as any lighter beer style that you want to add a concentrated, fruity character to. Although it's ok as a single hop variety, Galaxy shines with Simcoe, Idaho 7 or Mosaic to help bring out the brighter flavors.
Aroma and Flavor
Expect strong flavor and aroma from Galaxy, with bright passionfruit and clean citrus and peach characteristics. It is also known for undertones of pineapple and tropical fruit with no pine, wood or spice as a counter-balance. Imagine a more concentrated, brighter and cleaner Citra, and you've imagined Galaxy.

Not a new love of mine, but rather a consistent one! If you’ve ever tried our Andromeda NEIIPA, Galaxy was the driving hop behind the whole thing. It’s SUPER bright, even in bittering additions, and won’t leave you with the potentially catty characteristics that you can find with Citra. Trust me, throw it in with some Azacca and Simcoe, don’t be afraid to go a little overboard, and you will not be disappointed with this hop!

Possible Substitutes for Galaxy
While Galaxy is in a league all it's own, the closest hop substituts are Citra, which will lean more towards citrus and may not be as brilliantly bright, and Vic Secret, which has similar flavor and aroma characteristics but is more subdued.
