US Cascade Cryohops, 1 Pound sealed bulk pack.

Cascade originated from the USDA-ARA breeding program, and was released in 1972 as an aroma type cultivar.  Developed by open pollination of a Fuggle seedling, this original and unique hop variety is known as the 'Great Equalizer', and can and is used for almost every beer style.  Cascade is still to this day one the most popular hop varieties on the market due to it's multi-faceted and distinct flavor profile.

Athough originally intended as an arome hop, the dual-purpose power of this classic craft beer variety is undeniable.  Cascade can be used in beers that you want a balanced, subtle pine-forward bitter as well as any and all late addition and dry hop addition to add distinct citrus and pine, or bring those characteristics out in any other hop.  Due to it's multi-faceted profile, this hop is ideal for single hop or S.M.A.S.H. beers.  Cryohops are more concentrated due to the removal of the bract (plant material or vegetal material), so 1 oz of Cryohops is equal to 2 oz of T-90 Hop Pellets.

Aroma and Flavor

Cascade is the original grapefruit forward variety, and the later the addition, the more grapefruit you will get, always balanced with distinct yet subtle pine flavors and aromas, and rounded off with a soft, floral characteristic.

We always call Cascade ‘The Great Equalizer’ around here, because pretty much no matter what you’re doing, you can sub with Cascade.  Even though this is a funny running joke, it’s pretty true, but Cryo Cascade changes the game!  It’s got all of that concentrated terpene goodness, and I tend to use it instead of normal Cascade at every late and dry hop opportunity to get the most out of the additions.  All of that magic piney grapefruit citrus that you want, and way more of it to boot!
