Columbus, Whole Leaf
Columbus is a descendant of Nugget. It is a high alpha variety and was primarily used for bittering purposes, although it has been widely used in recent years as an aroma hop due to it 'Dank" and earthy characteristics. Columbus is often referred to as CTZ, a trio of hops so similar so as to be indistiguishable, including Tomahawk® and Zeus.
Aroma: Pungent black pepper and licorice characteristics with subtle citrus overtones
Possible Subs: Chinook, Galena, Mellennium, Nugget
