This kit was born when one of our local and favorite distributors wanted to brew a Maibock as on point and stylistically correct as possible. Naturally, we had to mess with the whole thing and add some more progessive hops to make the whole beer a little more our own. We used El Dorado hops for both bittering and late addition to add a subtle sense of sweetness to this bready, high gravity style. This beer is high gravity, delicious and gives you a brilliant example of the Maibock style.

This is a MONSTER Maibock! Our friend and a local beer distributor that has been making sure that we have access to solid craft beer for years, Amy, wanted to make a super traditional tasting Maibock, but with a twist of modern hops and a little higher abv. Naturally, we said that sounds great! After going back and forth between Loral and El Dorado, we landed on El Dorado because this high gravity lager was going to be nice and dry, and we wanted a hint of candy sweetness without it being overbearingly floral, and Amy’s Maibock was born! After 4 weeks of fermentation and about 6 of cold storage, this beer is ridiculously easy drinking and delicious! If you aren’t set up to lager, give Imperial Cablecar or Charlie’s Fist Bump a try for a similar yeast profile that can handle such a monster beer!
